To introduce MSMEs fostered by the Astra Foundation, especially in the culinary sector as well as to share knowledge about aesthetic culinary business to journalists, on April 16, 2025, the Astra Foundation held a workshop on "Aesthetic Culinary Business" which was given by MSMEs fostered by the Astra Foundation, Hai Cake.
Hai Cake is one of the MSMEs that has the enthusiasm and commitment to implement every coaching program provided by the Astra Foundation. The business, which is led by a millennial named Dini Mifta Pratiwi, is located in Bogor, West Java. In running her business, this mother of 3 children always tries to develop products based on trends, including aesthetic cakes that prioritize health. To expand its market, Hai Cake also always tries to collaborate with other MSMEs and companies/cafes to complement attractive cake offerings, but prioritizes quality.
The workshop held in Jakarta was attended by the Chairperson of the Astra Foundation Management - Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, Rahmat Samulo; Treasurer of the Astra Foundation Management – Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, Agung K. Sampurno and Advisor of the Astra Foundation – Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, Tonny Sumartono as well as journalists from written media, photos and content creators.
In the workshop, Rahmat Samulo conveyed the economic conditions currently being faced by the world, including Indonesia. According to Samulo, his nickname, during this uncertain economic condition, Astra, through the Astra Foundation, continues to encourage MSMEs in Indonesia to be able to see opportunities amidst difficulties. Samulo said that he and the Astra Foundation team are optimistic about the MSMEs they foster, who always try to be agile in various conditions, including the Hai Cake MSME, which continues to innovate based on the latest trends. Therefore, Samulo advised the journalists to show this optimism together through positive news related to Indonesian MSMEs, so that the news can have an impact on the progress of Indonesian MSMEs.
One of the journalists, Arief Rachman, who attended the workshop, expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the workshop. According to Arief, this informal workshop is not only fun because reporters can learn to make aesthetic cakes, but also broadens the reporters' horizons. By participating in this workshop, Arief admitted that he saw hope for a brighter future for MSMEs amidst less convincing news, especially since the Astra Foundation continues to strive to encourage its fostered MSMEs to remain optimistic in any condition. "The Astra Foundation can ignite a convincing fire of enthusiasm, that opportunities are always there for those who want to work hard and collaborate, strengthen and encourage each other," said Arief. Dini Mifta Pratiwi, in her presentation, said that the Astra Foundation made her an entrepreneur who always wanted to learn. She never wasted any coaching program given to be able to move up a class. "Every time the Astra Foundation holds coaching, I always follow it with enthusiasm. I always leave home at 4 am so I can sit at the front and study seriously," said Dini. Dini believes that her commitment and enthusiasm to continue to develop can help Hai Cake transform even better.
