Founded in 1980 with the philosophy of Give A Hook Not a Fish. YDBA was established as Astra's commitment to actively participate in building the nation.


YDBA was founded by Oom William Soeryadjaya on May 2, 1980


The Industrial Clinic was established at the Small Industrial Business Facility (SUIK), Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta and the Farming Business Training Center (PLU-YDBA) in Tapos, Cimanggis, Bogor Regency


The Small Industry Information Unit (UIIK) was established for the first time in Bandung, West Java.


The Small Business and Cooperative Information Unit (UIUKK) was established in Waru (Sidoarjo Regency) and Ceper (Klaten Regency).


YDBA's first collaboration, PT Pama Persada (PAMA) and PT ADARO established the Adaro Pama Business Development Institute (LPB) in Balangan Regency (South Kalimantan) on 25 July 2008.


YDBA was awarded the Certificate Of Recognation from the Minister of Cooperatives, Syarief Hasan on October 17, 2011.


YDBA's new logo was launched in conjunction with the celebration of YDBA's 35th Anniversary on 27 August 2015


More than 300 YDBA SMEs received an SME promotion award from the Ministry of Cooperatives at the 60th Astra Anniversary event in Surabaya on July 12, 2017.


The Chairperson of the YDBA Board, Henry C. Widjaja as a representative of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Indonesia presented the SME Development Platform at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC), Malaysia on October 16, 2019.


The YDBA Head Office Team held a celebration for the completion of the YDBA Gallery renovation on August 3, 2020.


The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Teten Masduki, visited the YDBA Gallery on 22 June 2021 in the framework of discussing the potential for cooperation between YDBA and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia in fostering MSMEs.


YDBA as one of the F20 partners, received a visit from F20 Chairman, Klaus Milke, and F20 Secretary General, Stefan Schurig who was welcomed by the YDBA Management Chair, Sigit P. Kumala at the YDBA Gallery, on 9 September 2022.
