Asuransi Astra, together with Yayasan Astra – Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra (Yayasan Astra – YDBA), officially launched the UMKM BERDAYA 2026 Development Program through a Kick Off ceremony held at the Peace of Mind Hall, Asuransi Astra Head Office, Arumaya Financial Center, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/7). The program is aimed at 120 assisted Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across various business sectors spread across 10 provinces in Indonesia, including the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, West Java, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, Riau, East Nusa Tenggara, and DKI Jakarta. The program is also supported by Enably in developing MSMEs run by persons with disabilities in the Jabodetabek area.
The event was attended by the President Director of Asuransi Astra, Maximiliaan Agatisianus; the Secretary of the Board of Yayasan Astra – YDBA, Ema Poedjiwati Prasetio; the Managing Director of Enably, Ni Wayan Orissa; along with 50 MSME participants who attended in person, 20 of whom are MSMEs run by persons with disabilities, while the remaining participants joined online. The series of events included remarks from all three parties, a signing ceremony for the cooperation commitment, a sharing session on financial bookkeeping and business risk mitigation, as well as a review of the assisted MSMEs' products.
The UMKM BERDAYA Program is a concrete translation of the Astra Sustainability Aspirations, particularly under the entrepreneurship pillar, as well as a form of support for the government's efforts to promote economic inclusivity, presented as a special momentum leading up to #SevenDecadesOfAsuransiAstra. This MSME development program is designed to be sustainable and measurable, involving 70 MSMEs assisted by Yayasan Astra – YDBA and 50 MSMEs run by persons with disabilities throughout 2026.
Two Development Tracks, One Goal: Moving Up a Class
For the 70 general MSMEs assisted by Yayasan Astra – YDBA, the development program carries five tiered pillars from May to September 2026, covering Strategic Business Roadmap, Brand Identity & Equity Development, AI-based Digital Marketing & Penetration, High-Stake Communication & Negotiation, and Sustainable Product Development. Each theme is supported by online training, mentoring, and coaching, with the ultimate goal of preparing the best MSMEs to compete in the Indonesia Marketing Association (IMA) UMKM & Tourism Award 2026.
Meanwhile, Asuransi Astra has partnered with Enably to present a program titled "Financially Independent, Digitally Literate, Moving Up a Class," running from July to September 2026 in a hybrid format. This program addresses challenges commonly faced by entrepreneurs with disabilities: eight out of ten MSMEs have strong ambitions to expand digitally but are still constrained by technical skills, while six out of ten MSMEs still require strengthening in basic financial literacy. The activities include training on digitizing financial reports and activating AstraPay QRIS, optimizing Facebook Pro and Google Maps, creating digital catalogs, pitching and public speaking, intensive mentoring, and culminating in the UMKM BERDAYA Awarding event with categories including Most Creative Product, Rising Star Inclusive Entrepreneur, and Most Inspiring Business Journey.
A Shared Commitment to an Inclusive MSME Ecosystem
"Over seven decades of operation, we believe that sustainable business cannot be achieved if businesses focus solely on profit. Business sustainability can be achieved when businesses also focus on governance, digitalization, and product innovation. Our collaboration with Yayasan Astra – YDBA and Enably ensures that this development program can create a greater impact and reach more businesses equally." – President Director of Asuransi Astra, Maximiliaan Agatisianus
"The UMKM BERDAYA Program is a manifestation of Yayasan Astra – YDBA's commitment to continuously expand the reach of sustainable MSME development, including embracing MSMEs run by persons with disabilities into the same ecosystem as general MSMEs. Moving up a class should be an opportunity for all businesses, without exception." – Secretary of the Board of Yayasan Astra – Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra, Ema Poedjiwati Prasetio
The UMKM BERDAYA Program's success will be monitored through several indicators, including increased business visibility in the short term (1–3 months), as well as increased turnover, transactions, and market access in the medium term (6–12 months). Asuransi Astra, Yayasan Astra, and Enably hope this program will be a real step toward the economic independence of persons with disabilities and more inclusive economic growth in Indonesia.
