As an employee, having rights and obligations towards the workplace is something that needs to be well understood. These rights and obligations relate to the authority, duties and responsibilities that must be fulfilled while working in a company. Not only employees, basically companies also have rights and obligations that need to be fulfilled as well.


This has also been regulated in Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, then the Law was changed to Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation. Some of the links include;

The salary received by employees must be in accordance with the work carried out. In this case, the company must take into account the performance and work experience of employees to determine the right amount of salary.


Obtain Protection for Occupational Safety and Health


Companies need to provide protection to employees related to occupational safety and health. This includes providing safe work tools and equipment, providing work safety training, and ensuring workplace conditions to be comfortable and healthy.

Obtaining the Required Training and Skills Development for the Job


Companies must provide training and skills development needed by employees, with the aim of completing their duties properly. This includes technical training, management training, self-development training, and others.

Employees must be treated fairly and not discriminatory in the workplace. This includes equal treatment of all employees without exception, regardless of gender, age, religion, ethnicity, and other elements.

Make Work and Administration Reports Required Correctly and on Time


Employees must make necessary work and administrative reports correctly and on time. This includes making financial reports, activity reports, and other work results reports.


Maintain Security, Order and Cleanliness of the Workplace


Employees must maintain a safe, orderly and clean workplace. This includes keeping the work environment clean, maintaining the safety of work tools and equipment, and maintaining order in the workplace.


Maintain Confidentiality of Company Information and Data


Employees must maintain the confidentiality of company information and data. This includes maintaining the confidentiality of financial data, customer data, product data, and other information.


By knowing the full rights and obligations of employees towards their workplace, employees can work well and create a harmonious and productive work environment. Therefore, it is important for companies to provide proper rights and clear obligations to employees.
