Six Astra Group Companies and Yayasan Astra Officially Launch the IKM Development Program 2026 to Strengthen the National Industrial Supply Chain

Yayasan Astra – Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra (Yayasan Astra), together with PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI), PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM), PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AOP), and PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), held the Kick Off of the IKM Development Program 2026 on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at William Soeryadjaya Hall, PT Astra International Tbk. The Kick Off was especially meaningful as it coincided with the celebration of Astra's 46 years of contribution to SME development in Indonesia through Yayasan Astra's programs. Attended by 175 guests, the event marked a new chapter in strengthening the national industrial supply chain through collaboration among Authorized Brand Agents (APM), Tier 1 suppliers, Small and Medium Industries (IKM), the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenperin), and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

The IKM Development Program is a strategic initiative by Yayasan Astra aimed at enhancing the competency, market access, and financing access of Small and Medium Industries within the Astra Group ecosystem. The program is run collaboratively with APMs, Tier 1 suppliers, Kemenperin, KADIN, and financial institutions such as SANF and Astra Ventura, employing a holistic development approach that encompasses strategic training, shopfloor mentoring, business matching facilitation, and financing access.

Among those present at the event were the Director of Metal, Machinery, Electronics, and Transportation Equipment (LMEA) SMEs at Kemenperin, Ir. Dini Hanggandari, M.Si.; the Deputy Chairperson for Industry Affairs at KADIN, Saleh Husin; as well as the leadership of Astra Group's APMs.

A Long Journey That Has Yielded Tangible Results

Since its inception in 2020, the IKM Development Program has gone through various stages, from concept development, pilot projects, and implementation, to the innovation phase. Entering 2026, the program now transitions to the "Level Up IKM Development System & Independent IKM" phase, with the ambition of enabling more IKMs to become self-reliant and highly competitive.

By the end of 2025, the program had recorded significant achievements: 78 IKMs successfully engaged in the development program, 39 active Tier 1 partners participating as development partners, cumulative transaction value reaching IDR 339.8 billion, and 29 IKMs achieving Independent status and ready to compete independently in the industrial supply chain.

"The IKM Development Program is more than just an ordinary development program. It is Yayasan Astra's long-term investment in building a strong industrial ecosystem, where IKMs grow alongside Astra Group and make a real contribution to Indonesia's economy," said the Chairman of Yayasan Astra – Yayasan Dharma Bhakti Astra, Rahmat Samulo.

IKM Mentoring Targets for 2026

In the 2026 program year, out of a total of 108 IKMs within the ecosystem, 35 IKMs will participate in intensive training and mentoring alongside 6 APMs. The training series is scheduled to run from May through September 2026, covering five core modules: Basic Mentality, 5R-K3 & Safety, Financial Management, Human Resource Development, and Quality Management System.

In addition to training, the program also includes Shopfloor Management mentoring and direct technical assistance from APMs and Tier 1 suppliers at IKM sites. By year's end, the targets to be achieved include: 100% QCD fulfillment from all coached IKMs, strengthening of the Astra value chain, and 8 new IKMs graduating to Independent status. This development initiative is fully aligned with the main theme of Yayasan Astra's 46th anniversary: Synergizing for a Cross-Generational Future of Indonesian SMEs.

Joint Commitment Signing and Awarding of Independence Certificates

As the highlight of the event, a Joint Commitment Signing was conducted by Yayasan Astra, all APMs, Tier 1 representatives, and participating IKMs. This commitment covers obligations for development, market access facilitation, and continuous capacity building for IKMs.

On the same occasion, Yayasan Astra also presented Independence Certificates to 10 IKMs that had successfully completed the entire series of the development program. Each IKM received an Independence Certificate, an Independent SME Certificate of Recognition, and an Independence Signboard as official acknowledgment of their readiness to compete in the industrial market.

Innovation as the Key Strategy for Strengthening the Supply Chain

In a Talk Show session themed "Innovation as the Key Strategy for Strengthening the Industrial Supply Chain," speakers from Yayasan Astra, Kemenperin, PT Astra Mitra Ventura (AMV), and PT Surya Artha Nusantara Finance (SANF) engaged in in-depth discussion on the challenges and solutions in IKM development — ranging from the importance of innovation in boosting competitiveness, machinery restructuring programs as a form of technological modernization, to financing schemes available to IKMs to support business growth.
