Astra Reinforces Role in Women Empowerment and Environmental Sustainability Through Inacraft 2026 Handicraft Exhibition

Astra, along with the Astra Foundation, participates again in the Jakarta International Handicraft Trade Fair, also known as Inacraft 2026. This participation is expected to support the progress of the national creative economy ecosystem. The exhibition taking place in Jakarta from February 4 to 8 in the year 2026 serves as an important momentum for Astra, which focuses on entrepreneurship, namely the Astra Foundation Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, as well as the Desa Sejahtera Astra program, to showcase the results of sustainable mentorship conducted so far.

Carrying the spirit of Prospering with the Nation Astra does not merely exhibit products but also carries a mission of empowering Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, cultural preservation, and environmental sustainability campaigns aligned with the grand theme of this year, celebrating the role of women entrepreneurs in the world of handicrafts.

Presenting a booth with a concept blending natural elements and modernity, visitors can witness firsthand the transformation of local SMEs that have received mentorship from Astra and the Astra Foundation Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation, which have now upgraded their class. They consist of four SMEs fostered by the Astra Foundation and four Desa Sejahtera Astra villages, where each brings unique stories and strong added value for global consumers as follows:

Dcraft Indonesia

Dcraft Indonesia appears to be stealing attention with wooden craft products combining function and historical aesthetics. Their flagship product in the form of solid wood trays themed Old Town Jakarta is not just a serving vessel but an artistic memorabilia recording the nostalgia of Fatahillah Square and Batavia architecture in sturdy wood grain. Additionally, Dcraft also introduces wooden diffuser innovations that can be personalized with corporate logos, making them an exclusive, elegant, and naturally nuanced corporate souvenir choice.

Ipatchu

The spirit of green innovation is demonstrated by Ipatchu, which focuses on processing urban textile waste. Amidst fast fashion issues polluting the environment, Ipatchu comes as a solution by turning denim waste into high artistic value fashion products or wearable art. Through upcycling techniques, they transform leftover jeans cuts into jackets, bags, and accessories with unique texture details proving that fashion waste can be reborn into new trendy and eco-friendly products.

Kawung Asli

The richness of Indonesian natural materials is also processed beautifully by Kawung Asli through bamboo weaving crafts. This SME consistently uses sustainable natural raw materials and applies traditional weaving techniques that have been modernized. Superior design and neat workmanship quality have brought Kawung Asli wide recognition, one of which was being a nominee for best design at the previous Inacraft event, affirming their position as a high-end bamboo craft producer.

Tri Angsa Mandiri

Tri Angsa Mandiri comes to pamper visitors with a collection of character dolls and animals made with diligence. Their products stand out due to lively character expression details and the use of safe and soft materials. Dolls made by Tri Angsa Mandiri are not only suitable as educational toys for children but are also very worthy as collectibles for doll enthusiasts who appreciate precise hand stitching quality.

Desa Sejahtera Astra Bali Pagi Motley

The charm of archipelago traditional fabrics is displayed by Pagi Motley, representing Desa Sejahtera Astra Bali. The textile products they produce have strong differentiation values because they use natural dyes from local Balinese biological richness. The eco-friendly production process produces fabrics with warm and exotic earth color characters reflecting harmony between village artisan creativity and the natural preservation of the island of the gods.

Desa Sejahtera Astra Yogyakarta Batik Giriloyo

From the land of Java comes Batik Giriloyo, fostered by Desa Sejahtera Astra Yogyakarta, which steadfastly maintains the dignity of traditional hand-drawn batik. Amidst the onslaught of machine-made batik motif textiles, the artisans in Giriloyo remain faithful in using canting tools and hot wax to paint every motif on the fabric. This dedication produces traditional fabrics full of Javanese cultural philosophy where every stroke tells of prayers and hopes, making their products works of art worth collecting.

Desa Sejahtera Astra Krebet Craft Batik Kayu Krebet

Another cultural uniqueness is presented by Desa Sejahtera Astra Krebet through wooden batik crafts, which became the identity of the tourism village. The artisans in Krebet have special expertise in transferring batik techniques from cloth media to wood media. The result is a variety of decorative products such as masks, puppets, jewelry boxes, and household furniture, combining the beauty of classic batik motifs with natural wood grain textures, creating interior ornaments with strong character.

Desa Sejahtera Astra Sumedang Gerai Maheswari

Gerai Maheswari from Desa Sejahtera Astra Sumedang is present, answering the needs of the growing Muslim fashion market. They offer Muslimah clothing collections that are not only compliant with religious rules but also modern and functional. Clothing designs such as dresses, skirts, and tops are specifically designed to support the mobility of active women without leaving an elegant impression, proving that regional SME products are able to compete in national fashion trends.

Besides the product exhibition, there is a craft workshop titled Urban Denim Waste From City Waste to Wearable Art. The event taking place on Friday, February 6, in the year 2026, at the Plenary Hall JICC collaborates with Ipatchu to invite the public to learn directly how to process denim waste.

Through this comprehensive participation in Inacraft 2026, Astra can open global market access as wide as possible for local artisans while inspiring Indonesian society to be increasingly proud to use and preserve products made by the nation's children.
