HOW TO INCLUDE NUTRITIONAL CONTENT LABELS ON PRODUCTS PROPERLY AND CORRECTLY

In Food and Drug Supervisory Agency Regulation Number 26 of 2021 concerning Nutritional Value Information on Processed Food Labels, Article 2 states that every person who produces and/or distributes Processed Food is obliged to include Nutritional Value Information on the Label.

Including nutritional content labels on products properly and correctly is very important to provide accurate information to consumers.

The following are some general steps in including nutritional content labels.

Read The Applicable Rules and Requirements

Make sure you understand the legal and regulatory requirements related to nutritional content labels in your region.

Presentation of Information

Arrange nutritional content information clearly and easily to understand in the ING Table such as serving size, number of servings per package, type and amount of nutritional and non-nutrient content, RDA percentage, and footnotes.

Include Required Information

Nutritional content labels must include information such as the number of calories, fat, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, sugar, vitamins and minerals.

Include Percentage Daily Value (%DV)

These percentages help consumers understand how much nutrition a serving of a product provides in the context of daily requirements.

Place Labels Clearly

Place the nutritional content label on the product packaging clearly and easily to see it to help consumers find information quickly.

Double Check Label Eligibility

Make sure the nutritional content label has been checked by the competent authority to ensure compliance with regulations and accuracy of information.

The application of ING inclusion is excluded for ground coffee, ground/powdered tea, tea bags, bottled drinking water, herbs, spices, spices, condiments and condiments. However, these products can still include ING on the label, as long as they meet the requirements.
New registrations for imported processed foods or those produced by medium and large scale producers must include ING as proven by the results of nutritional analysis from government laboratories and/or other accredited laboratories. The minimum types of nutrients that must be included in the ING Table are total energy, total fat, saturated fat, protein, total carbohydrates, sugar and salt (sodium), subject to statutory provisions.
