Astra and PIP Support Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) Certification for Their Mentored MSMEs in Sukawangi Bogor

Bogor – In line with the design of the Astra coaching program through the Astra Dharma Bhakti Foundation (YDBA) together with the Government Investment Center (PIP) in making MSMEs in Agriculture independent in Sukawangi Bogor, on July 10, 2024 YDBA and PIP collaborated with the West Java Provincial Food Crops and Horticulture Service and the Bogor Regency Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Service to conduct Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) certification. Certification was given to farmers fostered by Astra and PIP who had transformed their cultivation systems from conventional to organic. A total of 14 farmers received GAP certification which was directly submitted by the relevant Service in Sukawangi Bogor. The event was also attended by the Chairperson of the YDBA Management Rahmat Samulo, Secretary of the YDBA Management Ema Poedjiwati Prasetio, Treasurer of the YDBA Management Agung K. Sampurno, Advisors YDBA Tonny Sumartono and Sigit P. Kumala, Director of PIP Muhammad Yusuf, Representatives of the Provincial Food Crops and Horticulture Service. West Java Siti Solihat, Head of Protection and Business Services Division of the Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantation Service of Bogor Regency Judi Rahmat and EVP Corporate Secretary & Communication of PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero) (PII), Yunan Novaris.

In the certification handover, Rahmat Samulo said that the coaching program carried out by Astra through YDBA together with PIP is expected to form an agricultural ecosystem that supports the progress of farmers in Sukawangi Bogor. Samulo also said that the handover of certification given by the relevant agency is expected to further motivate farmers to continue to carry out better and standardized cultivation.

Meanwhile, the Director of PIP at the event said that the certification obtained by farmers on this occasion was in line with the design of the coaching program worked on by Astra through YDBA together with PIP in 2022. Yusuf hopes that this certification can support the independence of farmers in Sukawangi Bogor.

Judi Rahmat on this occasion also said that this certification could be given to more farmers in Bogor Regency, especially since there is still a lot of land area for farmers in the area. Judi hopes that the opportunity can be optimized not only by farmers, but also by Astra through YDBA and PIP which have run coaching programs in Sukawangi Bogor.

Siti Solihat representing the Food Crops and Horticulture Service of West Java Province in this event gave appreciation to the Sukawangi Majeng Sareng Business Development Institute (LPB) Team founded by Astra through YDBA and PIP which helped farmers with enthusiasm and persistence to obtain GAP certification. Siti Solihat hopes that this enthusiasm can motivate farmers who have not received certification to implement a standardized agricultural cultivation system, in order to obtain GAP certification.
