Present at GIIAS 2024, Astra Showcases Its Contribution to Indonesian MSMEs through YDBA

Tangerang, Banten – As Astra's contribution to fostering MSMEs in Indonesia, Astra through the Astra Dharma Bhakti Foundation (YDBA) runs a sustainable development program through training, mentoring, marketing facilitation and financing facilitation. The development program is carried out to support the independence of MSMEs.

This year, Astra through YDBA is back at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) which is the largest automotive exhibition in Indonesia. In the exhibition which took place on 18 - 28 July 2024, Astra showed its contribution to Indonesian MSMEs by displaying various MSME products ranging from the manufacturing industry, crafts & culinary, agriculture to development programs for 4-wheeled workshop MSMEs.

Astra's Contribution through YDBA in the Manufacturing Industry

Astra through YDBA supports government policies in increasing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of large industries involving MSMEs. Astra through YDBA also encourages MSMEs to enter the supply chain of the automotive, plantation, electronics, medical devices, hotels, restaurants and cafes (Horeka) and construction materials industries.

At this year's GIIAS, Astra through YDBA showcased its contribution to the national automotive industry, by showing a replica of a 4-wheeled vehicle supported by 67 components produced by 27 MSMEs fostered by YDBA. Of the 67 components, there are 6 components that support electric vehicles. In the 2-wheeled vehicle industry, Astra through YDBA showcased 30 components produced by 20 MSMEs fostered by YDBA. The components that successfully entered the 2-wheeled vehicle supply chain are the result of YDBA's collaboration with PT Astra Honda Motor (PT AHM), the Indonesian Ministry of Industry and KADIN Indonesia.

In this GIIAS, Astra through YDBA also showcased several products produced by manufacturing MSMEs, including medical device products, such as USG trolleys produced by MSMEs in Tarikolot Bogor and supplied to PT Astra Components Indonesia, mobile suction pump products supplied to the medical device industry in Indonesia, axes produced by MSMEs in Klaten and supplied to PT Astra Agro Lestari, wire condensers developed by MSMEs in Solo and supplied to the electronics industry in Indonesia, coffee roasting machines produced by MSMEs in Solo and supplied to the Horeka industry.

Astra's Contribution through YDBA in the 4-Wheeled Workshop Industry

In this GIIAS, Astra through YDBA also demonstrated the coaching it provides to 4-wheeled workshop MSMEs. The aim of the coaching is to create professional and standardized general workshops. Astra through YDBA encourages workshop UMKM to implement workshop service standards, starting from maintenance reminders & appointment activities, receiving units to be serviced, repairs, handovers and post-service & follow-ups.

In fostering 4-wheel workshop UMKM, Astra through YDBA also collaborates with various partners to jointly make UMKM move up a class and become independent. Some of them, such as PT Astra Otoparts Tbk which supports the provision of original spare parts, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor as an expert and PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia and PT Denso Indonesia as experts to support improving the competence of UMKM and partners in expanding the market through Isuzu Partner Workshops and Denso Partner Shops. Currently, the Workshop UMKM fostered by Astra through YDBA are spread across several regions and are members of a community, namely the YDBA Fostered Workshop Association (HBBA). HBBA itself is spread across several regions, including HBBA Jabodetabek, HBBA East Java & Bali, HBBA Yogyakarta and HBBA Banyumas Raya.

Astra's Contribution through YDBA in the Craft & Culinary Industry and Agriculture
Astra through YDBA also helps foster Culinary & Craft and Agricultural MSMEs. In this GIIAS exhibition, Astra through YDBA presents products from the Culinary MSME community, namely the Mamere Cooperative, Poklahsar (Processing and Marketing Group) Jaya Bersama and the OKUSA Cooperative (Sangatta Culinary Processing). In the craft industry, Astra through YDBA also presents various MSME products, from accessories to fashion. In the agricultural sector, Astra through YDBA displays derivative products from farmer cultivation, including red ginger powder from Lebak Banten, roll-on and aromatherapy products from lemongrass farmers in Bantul and Lebak, as well as cashew and vanilla products produced by farmers in West Manggarai, NTT.

In this GIIAS exhibition, the Chairman of the YDBA Management, Rahmat Samulo, said that Astra's commitment through YDBA in fostering MSMEs in Indonesia is carried out through intensive mentoring, so as to encourage MSMEs to move up a class and become independent. This year, Astra through YDBA is currently fostering 1,328 active MSMEs. In the coaching process, YDBA emphasizes and encourages MSMEs to have a good mentality and be able to create added value in their business.

As an appreciation and support from Astra's leadership, the YDBA booth at Pre-function Hall 1 ICE BSD was also attended by President Director of Astra Djony Bunarto Tjondro, Director of Astra Gita Tiffani Boer, Suparno Djasmin, Hamdani Dzulkarnaen, Henry Tanoto, Gidion Hasan, Thomas Wijaya, Frans Kesuma and President Commissioner of Astra Prijono Sugiarto.

To inspire visitors at the YDBA Booth, Astra through YDBA presents MSMEs through the #UMKMSiapBeraksi talk show with various themes and presents MSMEs directly. For visitors who attend GIIAS and are curious about MSME products fostered by Astra through YDBA, visitors can come and buy MSME products directly and get the opportunity to win various attractive prizes through games and booth reviews with the theme "How Much Do You Know About Astra".
